ONLINE: Homecoming: Barriers to Bridges - Preparing the next generation of Indigenous STEM Professionals
Indigenous Peoples are the fastest growing population in Canada. In the next two decades, the Indigenous population is projected to exceed 2.5 million people, increasing from 4.9% in 2016 to 6.8% in 2036. Indigenous people in Canada are proportionately less likely to be university graduates, the gap is even wider with those who earned a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). Indigenous people currently make up 4% of adults in Canada but less than 2% of the people working in (STEM) occupations.

Join us for a discussion on how a blended traditional Western education and land-based STEM program will help build the next generation of Indigenous STEM professionals.
