The McGill Alumni Association of Calgary is delighted to invite you to WHIMSICAL BIRDS, a special afternoon of Nordic music. This captivating event will feature a performance led by McGill alumnus and conductor Rolf Bertsch, BMus'78, alongside several talented alumni orchestra members, including cellist Shirley Wright, BMus'92, violinist Lise Zarb, BA'90, and other accomplished musicians.

The program will include:

· Einojuhani Rautavaara's Cantus Arcticus
· Vincent Ho's whimsical Concerto of Fanciful Birds (featuring this celebrated Calgarian composer)
· Jean Sibelius's powerful Symphony No. 5

Event Details:

· 1:30 PM: Social gathering with Conductor Rolf Bertsch in the Founders Room (cash bar available).
· 1:45 PM: Pre-concert chat in the lobby, offering valuable insights into the performance.
· 2:30 PM: Concert begins promptly.
